Discovery tasting : Matthias Planchon, Sancerre's winemaker - 2022/05/19

Le Livre de Cave offers you to discover the wines of Matthias Planchon!

Based in Sancerre, this young winemaker is often described as the future Didier Dagueneau. Even if this is a glowing description, it doesn’t prevent Matthias Planchon from adopting an exemplary discretion.

This young winemaker has 5 hectares in Sancerre since 2019, on completely different terroirs:

- The cuvée Les Herses comes from a plot with silex soil. You will find a beautiful acidity that contrasts with the characteristic Sauvignon Blanc chew. The minerality is also very present in this cuvée, and it makes us want to go back immediately!

-The cuvée Le Paradis is all in aroma. Here, it is the chalk terroir that directs, we find the shoulders, the concentration and the patina licked of a well-chiseled ageing. The aromatic persistence of this young wine is quite amazing!

During the tasting held at the Livre de Cave, you can taste the first vintage of Matthias Planchon in white. In addition, he will do us the honor to bring samples of the 2020 vintage that is not yet on the market, as well as a sample of his Pinot noir still in ageing!
